Every year our Christmas party is a complete secret; no one knows where we’re going or what we’re doing… even up to the last activity!
This year we took a road trip with multiple stops of fun. Read on to see what they entail!
Stop 1 on our CFHC Christmas Tour:
A shopping excursion
We loaded up the bus and headed to Target to shop for underprivileged children.
There we met up with a longtime friend, Boston Walker, from Steel Valley Moving. They hosted their first annual Christmas Giveaway this year. Through him, we each had a specific child with their age and Christmas list to shop from.
Thank you Boston for letting us fulfill a child’s wish and transporting all the presents. Also a huge thank you to Target Boardman as they brought in extra workers to support our team and help make our shopping trip a breeze.
It was an honor and privilege to spread joy this holiday season.

Stop 2:
The Chester Teapot in Chester, West Virginia
We were driving by and just had to make a pit stop. The Chester teapot is labeled as the “World’s Largest Teapot”, which measures 14 feet (4.3 m) in height by 14 feet (4.3 m) in diameter.
We can now all cross that off our bucket lists!

Stop 3:
Frank’s Pastry Shop in Chester, West Virginia
Since our employees are so sweet to our patients, we had to stock up on some baked goodies for all of them to enjoy. Such tasty treats from Franks!

Stop 4:
Chestnut Hill Candle Co. in Chester, West Virginia.
Our employees light up the lives of their patients through what they do and it truly shows. It’s only fitting that our next stop was a candle store! Everyone got to leave with their favorite scent too.
If you’re ever in the area, stop by Chestnut Hill Candle Co. It’s an adorable local candle store with some of the best-smelling candles around.
Stop 5:
Fiesta Ware Factory in Newell, West Virginia
We took a tour of the museum, learned the history, and shopped! We also gifted a ‘pass along plate’ to each one of our employees so they can all spread love and Christmas cheer this holiday season.
What is a ‘pass along plate’ you ask? As it says on the plate itself:
“Pass a plate of cookies to a neighbor or a friend
Pass a plate of happiness, don’t ever let it end
It’s the season for giving, the season to share
The season for baking, the season to care.”
Good thing we stopped at a pastry shop earlier!
Stop 6:
Pastaio Cucina in Wintersville, Ohio
Time to dine! We all sat down and enjoyed each other’s company. There’s nothing better than lively conversation over great food.
The owners are from Sicily and Pastaio actually means pasta maker in Italian. The pasta was delicious but the MozzaCigar Siciliana appetizer was a fan favorite in our group. Imagine, mozzarella wrapped in fresh pasta that is then flash-dried – deliciousness! A few of us might be back one day for more.
A nutcracker and a bag of delicious locally made popcorn were waiting for everyone at Steubenville’s first true coffeehouse.

We snagged some coffee and spent some time looking around the charming and cozy coffeehouse. Hot coffee, salty popcorn, what could possibly be next?

Stop 8:
Steubenville Nutcracker Village in Steubenville, Ohio.
As they say, “Save the best for last,” and that’s exactly what we did.

We were immediately immersed in the spirit of Christmas as we walked through Nutcracker Village. Nutcracker Village is the world’s largest collection of life-size nutcrackers, 200 to be exact. Each nutcracker takes at least 40 hours to design, carve, and paint.

The nutcrackers are scattered around Historic Downtown Steubenville which meant exploring, stopping to shop here and there, and experiencing the “ultimate hot chocolate.” While touring the nutcrackers, we even bumped into Santa! What a perfect ending to a wonderful day.
Thank you for following along on our Christmas adventure.
It’s such a magical time of the year and we enjoyed sharing it with you. Take the joy of Christmas and pass it on to others.

(While on our way home, we were all taken aback at the moon’s reflection on the water. It was incredible in person and this picture just doesn’t do it justice. A perfect ending!)
