If you are reading this email, you are blessed like me to share another Christmas with family and friends. It is the time of year that we reflect on all that is good in our lives and share gifts with those we care for.
It does not matter what your background, your religious beliefs, or your life views are, we should all agree that giving a gift to another in any form brings joy to both the giver and the receiver. To me, that is the true essence of Christmas.
For many, this time of year can be really tough. It might be a health condition, the loss of a loved one, living alone, a financial crisis, or some other taxing life circumstance. You may not realize that your gift, no matter how small, is precious and brings joy to the person you are giving it to.
Thank you for all the gift-giving you do to spread the joy of the season to those around you. If you are one of those that struggle at this time of year, I pray that the joy of the season gives you even a little bit of solace.
On behalf of everyone here at Centers for Hearing Care,
Merry Christmas to you and yours.
Happenings
1. Hearing Loss and Dementia: We know the correlation between hearing loss and dementia, but many people still don’t. An article came out this month with a study that proves this.
“The new study published Monday in JAMA Neurology offers evidence that managing hearing loss may potentially help reduce or delay cognitive decline…”
With dementia, preventive measures are key!

2. CFHC Christmas Party: We couldn’t have asked for a better team bonding day than the one we had. From shopping for under privaleged children, to seeing Santa and hunting down life-sized nutcrackers, our Christmas party was nothing short of an adventure this year.
You can see pictures and read all the details in our most recent blog post here.
3. Happy New Year: Make sure you ring in the new year the right way, with a good hold on your hearing. Visit us at any of our six offices and get that baseline screening done for 2023.
Best wishes to you and yours in the new year!
Who We Are Celebrating…
This month we are celebrating Dr. Kenney, a licensed Audiologist who has been with Centers for Hearing Care for over 16 years and who is also the current President of the Salem Area Chamber of Commerce.
She most enjoys helping patients to reconnect with the world around them through better hearing. There’s nothing like fitting a patient with their first pair of hearing aids and seeing the surprise and joy in their eyes! Many of her patients feel like family since she has been working with them for so many years.
Outside of work, Dr. Kenney enjoys spending time with her family. She’s a Boardman native, and her husband, Seth, is from Austintown. They have a daughter and a son, as well as two large furry kids.
Dr. Kenney loves live entertainment, playing tennis, watching football, and seeing her kids succeed in sports and music! She also plays the piano and saxophone.
As well as being the President of the Salem Area Chamber of Commerce, Dr. Kenney is also an active member of Salem Kiwanis. You’ll often find her out in the community at numerous events!
