Recently a few audiology aides and myself were invited to a local health fair. The health fair was sponsored by a very prominent business in our community, a business with about 125 employees. We were there to educate those employees about protecting their hearing, earwax buildup, and to answer any other hearing health-related questions.

It was such a wonderful day and it gave us a chance to educate 125 individuals in our community on how to protect their hearing from any future damage. Many new friends were made as well.

While we were there, we completed over 60 hearing screenings, and guess what? We are able to change the lives of many of these folks who had hearing loss. Currently, there is a program that will help fund hearing aids for people who are employed in the state of Ohio. We were surprised by how many of them did not know this!

If you or anyone you know who is now working and in need of hearing help for your job, come to our office to get more information. In addition, if you are employed at a local business in our community and would like to have us come out for the same reason, please email me. I would love to arrange for this to happen.

Far too many people know that their family and friends have commented about their hearing but have never had a simple hearing screening done. By being at the employer, we were able to take the stress and hassle out of setting this up on their own time. It was such a wonderful joy to be able to help so many people in just one day. The sooner hearing loss is detected, the sooner we can start a plan to protect it from getting worse, or better yet, to help prevent further problems down the road.

Who We Are Celebrating…

This month we are celebrating Monica Ziegler, our billing administrator who has been with Centers for Hearing Care since August 2004.

“My favorite thing about working for CFHC is the people.

Patients — I love getting to know them and why NOW they are here.

Co-workers — Seeing the care and love that is in their hearts when helping patients to hear better.

I am proud to work for CFHC because of the mission work they do across the country and right here in our own community.”
